Michael Price began studying piano at an early age. With thirty years of experience Mr. Price grew up listening to all types of music. Following the road less traveled his proclivity for mastering the art forms of Jazz, Blues, and Classical rendered his search to the tutelage of piano jazz and classical masters; Stanley Cowell (master of piano pedagogy at Manhattan School of Music), John Hicks (Verve Records recording artist and principal pianist for the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Program), and Grammy Award winner recording artist Larry Willis. Mr. Price’s performances with such notables as; international artist Bobby Hebb (American songwriter and musician for the award winning classic 1966 recording “Sunny “; Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Herb Reed of “The Platters “, and modern jazz trumpeter phenomenon Roy Hargrove has garnered him notoriety amongst some of the professional elite in music.

While finalizing his degree in music from The University of the District of Columbia in Washington D.C.  Mr. Price advantaged the opportunity afforded him and recorded with The Great Bassist Butch Warren (a disciple of the legendary Thelonious Monk). Mr. Price has been contracted and performed in the countries of Japan, Portugal,Morocco,Canada,and the United States. Critics in North Africa’s” Madam Magazine” cited Mr. Price a virtuoso. Critic Mike West for Washington DC’s “City Paper “used the word Mellifluous to describe the playing of Mr. Price.

Mr. Price has annually performed for the US Congressional Black Caucus, the University of the District of Columbia Big Band, and the Duke Ellington Jazz Festival. He performs regularly with his quartet at concert halls, jazz venues, and private events and teaches music privately and publicly.
